Visit to Mahmoo's

Here are a couple pictures from when we went to visit Mahmoo a couple weeks ago. We were all dressed up to go to a wedding reception.

Memorable Maisy Moments

• Yesterday we were watching the movie Marley and Me. It's a great movie, but it made me cry like a baby. Kaia kept saying "Mommy, okay?" and I'd say "Mommy's okay, the movie just made me sad." So she stopped playing and came over, climbed up on my lap, and gave me a kiss, which only made me cry more!
• We went to a wedding reception this weekend in Bloomfield and Kaia was very excited to go to the "party". When we got back to Josh's parents she told Mahmoo and Popple that she went to the "party" and "danced". Then she showed them how, which is basically a lot of spinning, running in circles, and jumping!
• Maisy loves her pool (poo-oh). She tells me, "Mommy, wim-yuit (Mommy, put on your swimsuit)." She loves to splash and go down the slide!
• She still calls her dad "dosh", although she's starting to call him "daddy" a little more. She usually just runs around and yells "mommy dosh". Sometimes it seems like she's calling him that and sometimes she just seems to be saying it for no reason. We were in Panera the other day waiting to meet Julie for lunch and Kaia was running around. She'd go to one end of the restaurant, then run over to Josh, all the while yelling "mommy dosh!" The restaurant was pretty full, so it was a bit embarassing.
• She loves her uncle "Non" (Jon)! He's in town for the summer for an internship, so we get to see him a lot! Kaia runs over and gives him a big hug and makes him do endless rounds of "pockey full of posie ashes" (what she calls ring around the rosie...pockets full of posie). She loves that game. She makes all of us take a turn, and sometimes makes us all do it together. One day she tried to grab Berky's paws and make him do it too!
• She loves to give "Yammy" and "Berky" "yeats (treats)" and to hold Berky's leash on a walk.
• I usually take a baggie of cereal with us to church to keep her occupied. Yesterday I filled it with a few fruit loops and lucky charms. Sometimes she eats both kinds, but usually she just searches out the marshmallows and only eats them. When she finds a marshmallow she calls out "there it is!" I've learned to fill the baggie up so it takes longer for her to find the marshmallows...thus keeping her occupied and fairly quiet for quite a while!
• She's a ham. She's always making funny faces and doing things to make us laugh. At bedtime I lay her in her bed and she says "Mommy, yeep (sleep)" and pats her pillow. She wants me to lay down with her. So I do, and she rustles around for a while. Then she sits up and reaches over and plays with my face. I tell her to lay down and she has to keep her hands to herself (no touch). So she does for a minute, then she pokes me and says "mommy, touch!" and laughs. She does it a few more times until I remind her again "no touch." So she lays still, then she kicks me with her feet and laughs. Then she sits up and says "Mommy, eyes, yeep." And I say "Yes, Kaia. Close your eyes and go to sleep." So she starts rolling her eyes and making funny faces, trying to make me laugh-it's so hard to stifle the laughter and sternly tell her to lay down and go to sleep. She usually does after that, and eventually gets herself to sleep. Then I get up and go about my night-unless I fall asleep before she does! What a silly girl!

Summertime!

We've been busy enjoying the beautiful weather!! We've spent lots of time at the park, playing outside, riding bikes, and in Kaia's pool! We had lunch at our friends, the Waglers on Memorial Day and the kids had a blast playing in their pools! Here are a few pictures...
