Gigantic Update!
Holy cow! This has been a huge month and a huge week for our family!! We've been keeping super busy and had an awesome celebration week last week!! It started on the 11th with Josh and my 10 year dating anniversary!! On the 12th we had Kaia's birthday party, and on the 13th she turned the BIG 4!! On the 17th Josh and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and on the 19th I turned the BIG 2-7!! Today Kaia went to her first day of preschool. So we've had LOTS of celebrating to do! I'm exhausted! We started out the month by celebrating the wedding of Justin (Josh's older brother) and Colbi. 1st day of Preschool!!
Kaia started preschool today!! She goes everyday in the morning and she is so excited!! She did an awesome job today and we are so proud of her!! It's hard to believe she is so old! Mama even did well...we were EARLY (if you can believe that!) and we both handled the drop-off well! We're excited to experience this new adventure with our big girl!!
3 Months!
On August 17th (which was also our anniversary!) Kinley turned 3 months!! I never cease to be amazed at how quickly babies change!! Kinley looks older each day and is really becoming active! This month she mastered rolling from back to tummy and is working on tummy to back. She has started laughing and is constantly smiling! When she smiles she just smiles all over! She does a great job tracking voices and has started leaning toward me when someone else is holding her and she wants to come to me. She has also started crying when someone else is holding her and I start to talk to her, showing that she wants her mama! She "talks" constantly, especially if Josh and I are having a conversation-then she really coos like she wants to get her 2 cents in! She has started trying to touch things in front of her and grabbed the toy on her carseat the other day for the first time. She loves when Kaia talks to her and usually calms down if Kaia talks to her when she is fussy. She always wants to be held upright or sitting facing outward...she really wants to observe what's going on! We still struggle with not wanting to be put down for naps and swaddling/waking issues at night. But for the most part she is such a sweet baby and brings us so much joy!! The best part of my day is picking her up in the morning (even if she hasn't been cooperative with sleeping at night) and seeing her huge smile! It makes everything I do as a mama worth it!!
Happy 4th Birthday Kaia Mae!!!
On August 13th Kaia Mae turned 4 years old!! She woke up to balloons all over her room and McDonald's breakfast! Kaia, Kinley and I had a fun day: we went to lunch, the childrens' museum, and rode the carousel. When daddy came home from work we went to dinner. We had a fun day and the first thing Kaia said to me after opening her presents was, "I can't wait until I'm five!" She already has a Clifford birthday party planned! Meanwhile, I'm hoping this year doesn't go by too fast!!

Kaia's 4th Birthday Party!
On August 12th we had Kaia's 4th birthday party! We'd had gorgeous weather all week, and then on the day of her party it was cool, cloudy, and started pouring on us as we were on our way to the park. We held it at a state park with an awesome lake and beach, thinking it would be fun for the kids to swim. Needless to say, that didn't happen! But we still had a fun time!! It rained for about an hour and then cleared off so we were able to play some games and head to the playground before it started raining again. Kaia chose a Hello Kitty theme and had so much fun with her family and friends! The rain actually made it more fun for the kids!

Roly Poly
Miss Kinley has been able to get to her side and onto her tummy for a little while, going over her right shoulder, but her right arm would get trapped and she'd get frustrated. But last week, on the 10th (the day she turned 12 weeks), she finally mastered getting her arm out from underneath her! And she hasn't stopped rolling over since! Everytime I lay her down she's right on her tummy. And she's trying to inch her way off her blanket. No sitting still for this little one!! Today she started rolling back over from her tummy to her back. Above is the video from August 10th when she first started fully rolling over!
Ozarks
At the end of July we headed to the Ozarks for Justin and Colbi's wedding! We had an awesome time with family and friends and got a little vacation time in after celebrating their special day!! Both girls did a great job traveling and Kaia loved getting to spend lots of time with her cousins!! It's so fun staying on the lake, and we even got some boating/swimming/tubing time in. Kaia even jumped in and swam in the lake when we were boating! Kinley did a great job on her first boat ride too!

Justin and Colbi's Wedding!!
On July 28th Josh's older brother, Justin, and his fiancee, Colbi, got married!! It was an absolutely gorgeous wedding and we all had a blast! We're so excited for them as they start their new life together. Our whole family adores Colbi, especially all the girls, and she and Justin are so happy together! What a blessing to have another Mrs. Swaim!! Kaia was a flower girl with Clare and they did such a good job! All the kids did great and sat so well during the ceremony! Josh played the guitar and I sang, so his cousin Sarah did an awesome job taking care of Kinley for us! Everyone had so much fun at the reception-the kids kept busy with the jumping castle and getting tattoos! Kaia came home with 3 on her arm! All the Swaims (kids included) closed down the party at midnight, so I think it's safe to say we had a great time!
