Curly-haired girl
Kaia's got some curly hair like her daddy's! So far the curl is mostly showing up when her hair's wet, but when she gets up from sleeping it's becoming unruly in the back, and now that it's growing more you can start to see the curl on the sides when it's dry. I still can't believe she's not a blonde! But her hair does seem to be lightening up some. If it doesn't turn before summer I bet that it will bleach out when summer comes.
Visit Home!
Kaia and I made the trip this past weekend home so that Kaia could meet Aunt Connie for the first time. She brought Grandma Dorothy back from Texas, so we went back to see them! We had a great time and were happy to see all of our family! Unfortunately Josh wasn't able to go since the Legislature wasn't finished yet, but hopefully he'll make it back with us next time!
Having fun with Aunt Connie!
Playing with the balloons!
Checking out Uncle Larry's beard...she wasn't too sure about this one!

Picnics!
Last week Kaia went on her first picnic! We went to the park with Aunt Mandy, Ella, Addy, Luke, and Jude
We went on another picnic today since it was 85 degrees, but it was terribly windy! So we had to tailgate and eat in the back of our cars!

Visitors!
Yesterday Grandma and Grandpa Keller came to visit us!! We were very excited to see them and Kaia was very happy when she woke up from her nap and saw them in our living room! All through lunch she kept smiling and talking to Grandma and Grandpa Great! She had a great time untying their shoes and talking up a storm. We're so glad they came to visit!
Today Kaia mastered the art of the clap!! She's been trying for a few days now, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of it until today! And now she won't stop clapping! We had a beautiful day yesterday and hope for another today, so we'll having someting to clap about! Maybe we'll get in another long walk with Grandma Julie, Aunt Mandy, and the cousins!

Track Hall of Fame
On Tuesday night, Josh was inducted into his high school's track Hall of Fame! We're so proud of him!! His sister, Mandy, was inducted the same night, so we got to cheer for her too! Kaia enjoyed her first track meet, although it got a little chilly!
All bundled up and not too sure what to think.
So proud of Daddy!

8 Months Old!
Can you believe Kaia is 8 months old today? Unbelievable! Our precious little girl is growing so quickly and is constantly learning new things. It's so fascinating just to sit back and watch her learn! Just this past week she learned how to click her tongue to the back of her teeth and has been clicking ever since. Whenever we make the sound she mimics it and is so proud of herself! She starts shaking both hands in the air, her sign for being excited. On Saturday Kaia started feeding herself some finger food. We started with some breadstick, which she took out of my hand and put in her mouth all by herself. Now we've moved on to Gerber Puffs, which are a little bigger than cheerios. She can pick those up off her tray and feed herself. We praise her each time she does it and she gets so excited! She's cruising all over the place and is a pro at pulling herself up and sitting back down. She's also pretty good at entertaining herself with her toys, provided I don't get too far away. She especially loves toys that talk and play music. Her new favorite is an activity table that plays lots of music. She could stand at that for quite a while and play. When the music plays she bounces up and down like she's dancing. It's a great age and we can't wait to see what she does next!

Happy Easter everyone! We hope you're having a fantastic day celebrating the Risen Lord!
Easter Visitors!
Yesterday we had some visitors! Our friends Michael and Courtney and their son Finnean were home visiting for Easter, so they stopped by to see us! We loved having them visit, especially Kaia. She was very interested in Finn, who's 4 months old. She was checking him out in his car seat and liked to touch him! He played with some of her toys and she played with some of his and they had a fun time!
A little lesson...
Last night, after we put Kaia down for bed, I was finishing up some laundry and when I emptied the dryer I discovered a sticky green substance all over the inside. As I investigated further I discovered it was gum! My wonderful husband had left gum in a kleenex in his pants pocket. In fact I remember when he did it- it was last Sunday at church when we were going up for Communion. Of course you can't have gum in your mouth when you take the bread and juice. Now, I take responsibility for apparently not checking his pockets well enough. But, leaving gum in your pocket?! Really?! And of course I had to get the dryer completely clean because of all things to be drying next, I had to be drying Josh's nice WHITE dress shirts. I'm already not scoring too highly on the homemaker scale in this area since the last time I dried his nice dress shirts I shrunk a brand new one. In my defense, it was a new dryer and I did dry them on the lowest setting, but it is a very hot dryer and tends to shrink clothes regardless of the setting. So, I spent a half an hour getting the gum out of the dryer. As far as I know none got on the dress shirts and I didn't shrink any of them. And on the positive side, our dryer is smelling minty fresh!

Visit to Grandma and Grandpa Great's
This week Kaia and I made the trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa Great! We had a great time and I know they did too! We got to visit some friends and I got my Exotic Thai fix. I'm sorry we didn't get to see everyone...it's hard to fit everything into a few short days, especially when most people are working during the day!
Kaia, Sampson(right), and Berkeley(left) enjoying hanging out with Grandpa and Grandpa Great!
We stopped on the way home and visited our friends Bridget and Baby Liam!
