Kaia's Update
I try to give a monthly update on what Kinley is up to, but I haven't given one about Kaia lately. As you can see from the pictures above, Kaia is taking gymnastics lessons! She loves it!! She goes once a week and has 2 of her friends from preschool in her class. She asks me every day if she has gymnastics today! She is learning a lot and gets good exercise! Grandma Julie and Grandpa Kurt got her a gymnastics mat for Christmas, so she practices a lot at home too! Yesterday they practiced climbing a rope. It was Kaia's first time and it didn't go so well. So when we got home she told me we needed our own gym with a rope that she could practice on! She goes to preschool every morning and absolutely loves it. She has 5 "best friends" that she usually plays with and she is full of stories every day when I pick her up. She is still constantly singing and dancing around the house. And she's been busy practicing her Wii bowling. Kaia does a great job helping me entertain Kinley. She's a great helper, although sometimes she helps a little too much. She always wants to help Kinley stand or sit and wants to carry her around. I constantly have to remind her that Kinley can do it herself, and she sometimes has to take a little break from being a helper. I am noticing that Kaia is becoming quite the perfectionist. If she doesn't do something just right, she gets very upset. That goes for her drawing (which she is constantly doing), writing, gymnastics, games, and Wii bowling. We're working on trying to reign in the temper and just keep trying! She's also really competitive and hates to lose....who doesn't? So we're working on learning to be a good sport! As I mentioned, she loves art and is constantly drawing and coloring. She is a pretty good artist! That makes me excited because neither Josh nor I are very good artists. I can't believe how old she is looking and acting, and it reminds me that she will be going to kindergarten soon. It reminds me of a saying, "The days are long, but the years are short." I am realizing every day how true that is and it's bittersweet knowing that I only have a few short months before she is gone all day at school. And now I'm tearing up at the thought, so I had better end it here! Kaia is a sweet, smart, funny, helpful, loving, thoughtful, curious, active girl and I'm thankful for her every day!!
