Making Progress

For the last 2 nights Kaia has been falling asleep on her own!! Saturday night I decided to try laying down with her in her bed and trying to have her fall asleep on her own, now that she understands "nigh nigh" and closing her eyes and laying her head down on the pillow. She tossed and turned and sat up and laid down for about a half hour, but finally fell asleep on her own with no tears!! She slept past her normal 1st wake-up time (45 minutes later) and was doing great until she woke up crying inconsolably. We think she'd had a bad dream. We ended up giving her a bottle and she went back to sleep. Last night we laid down without taking a "bobble" and it was the sweetest experience. She laid her little head down next to mine on the pillow and whispered to me in her sweet little baby babble, just like she was telling me secrets. Then she tossed and turned and sat up and played with her blanket, trying to get settle down. And then she leaned over and kissed my cheek and patted my face. Then she laid down and went to sleep. I got up and she slept until 5 a.m. without waking! I hope this continues!
